Description:

The course introduces phenomenon of sensorization and pervasive sensing in industry and other domains. The course focuses on physical layer of the intelligent sensors and networked embedded sensors. The concept of the intelligent sensor and international standards for its implementation are presented. Attention is given to design and implementation of the networked sensors in industry. An introduction to system design and implementation of the wireless sensor networks as energy constrained embedded systems is given. Design principles of battery operating electronic systems, as well as principles of power management in a WSN are introduced. Energy harvesting principles and implementations are presented.
